Slutzky & Blumenthal petitions 7th Circuit Court of Appeals for rehearing in Smith v. SIPI
Unless the court reconsiders, the court's decision could alters the entire tax collection system as it has efficiently operated in Illinois since the 1951 revisions to the Property Tax Code (formerly Illinois Rev. Act).

Jeffrey Blumenthal, with co-author David Gray, Jr., update latest version of IICLE Real Estate Taxation
The latest, 2016 edition of the IICLE treatise on Real Estate Taxation has just been published. In Chapters 10 and 11, Mr. Blumenthal and Mr. Gray have updated their work to include the most recent developments in Tax Enforcement and Collection methods, including all case law and statutes.

Rodney Slutzky Appointed by ISBA to SALT Section Council
The President-elect of the Illinois State Bar Association appointed Rodney Slutzky to serve for another one-year term on its State and Local Taxation Section Council. As a member of the council, Mr. Slutzky, together with the other section council members, focus on all aspects of state and local taxation, including real estate tax matters. Among the most important functions of the section council is monitoring and reviewing proposed and pending legislation, and giving guidance to the Illinois State Bar Association Board of Governors on relevant issues affecting all manner of state and local taxation, practice and procedures.
